Sport and Physical Education
At the inter-school level, children have the opportunity to compete in the following sports: softball, cricket, track and field, rugby league, touch football, soccer, and netball. Pupils showing particular aptitude at a sport are encouraged to further their skills at a district, regional and possibly state level. Inter-house sports carnivals will be held prior to the inter-school sports carnival and zone carnival.
Sporting and house teams
Upon enrolment students are allocated to one of our three house teams:
Health and Physical Education (HPE) lessons
Physical fitness and sport play a major role within the school's Curriculum Framework. A physical education teacher is attached to the staff and all children receive tuition in skill development on a weekly basis. HPE lessons promote students to demonstrate leadership, teamwork and cooperation during each lesson.
Swimming
All students receive swimming instruction as part of the school’s Health and Physical Education program. Lessons are taken by our HPE specialist and assisted by a trained teacher aide. The swimming season is from the beginning of the year to the end of April, and again from October to the end of the year.
All parents are invoiced during the year. Please ensure that your child/children have suitable sun-safe swimming apparel and a towel on swimming days. If your child is not to go swimming please forward a note to your classroom teacher.
